Department of Homeland Security, Social Security Administration Re-evaluating “No Match” Rule
“Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, continues to review the Safe Harbor Rule at issue in this litigation, including the role of this rule in the context of the Obama Administration’s overall immigration enforcement policies. As part of this comprehensive review, the Department is evaluating numerous options, including whether to maintain the Rule in its current form, or to seek amendment or repeal. As in the past, the Social Security Administration, a co- defendant in this action, is being consulted in the review of this Rule, in addition to several other Executive Branch agencies and offices.” AFL-CIO v. Napolitano, MOTION FOR EXTENSION OF TIME TO RESPOND TO PLAINTIFFS’ MOTIONS FOR SUMMARY JUDGMENT, June 10, 2009
