EB-3 Visas May be Pushed to Annual Numerical Limit in June
Individuals in the EB-3 visa category should take special interest in the June 2008 Visa Bulletin, which was just released. Most individuals in this category with a priority date before March 1, 2006 are eligible to complete their application process. [Please note that for those from China, India and Mexico, the date is still in 2001, 2002, or 2003].
HOWEVER, according to the Department of State:
“Demand for numbers, primarily by Citizenship and Immigration Services Offices for adjustment of status cases, is expected to bring the Employment Third preference category very close to the annual numerical limit in June. As a result, this category is likely to experience retrogressions or visa unavailability beginning in July. Such action would only be temporary, however, and a complete recovery of the cut-off dates would occur for October, the first month of the new fiscal year.”
We encourage individuals who believe they are eligible to apply for a Green Card under the EB-3 category to contact us immediately in order to prepare and file their applications before the numerical limit is reached and/or cut-off dates are adjusted.
