Rubashkin Gets Arrested
The CEO of Agriprocessors finally got hauled into court for immigration violations. Its interesting, it looks like most of the charges stem from activities after the raid. It looks like he assisted in getting the new employees fake documents, and even rehired some of the terminated people with new fake documents. This comes ont he heels of the company receiving $10 million in fines for labor and wage violations.
After the raids earlier this year, people have been waiting to see what would happen to the company and management. If these allegations are true, reasonable people might conclude that Rubashkin really thought he was above the law. Prior bouts with tax evasion, the NLRB and other federal officials pale in comparison to engaging in the same activity that precipitated the then largest raid in US history.
