Dear Supreme Court – Please!

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case where someone used a social security number that turned out to belong to someone else.  The question is whether you need to know the particular SSN belonged to someone specific.  Some of the jurisdictions have said you need to know in order to be punished by the two years in prison the crime comes with, and other jurisdictions have said that just using nine random digits does not mean you should go to jail.  Some have theorized that this could do serious damage to the current administration’s enforcement strategy.  This could also mean that many of those picked up in raids earlier this year may have some options after all.  We can only hope that justice wins out.
